Berridge R. Marsh | Attorney- Litigator- Mediator. With more than 35 years’ experience representing Fortune 50 corporate clients and insurers, I understand the principles of conflict and dispute resolution. As an attorney, I have litigated and resolved hundreds of personal injury, wrongful death, and property damage claims, including many complex, multi-party actions. These cases have involved a wide array of issues, such as workplace and environmental exposure to toxic substances, including claims for increased risk and fear of cancer; medical professional liability, including catastrophic injury cases; and product defect claims, involving both design and manufacture. I have extensive experience in analysis and litigation of insurance coverage matters, including first- and third-party claims, and have handled numerous matters involving business and contractual disputes, as well.
I am a California native and resident of Marin County since 1959, when my family relocated from Sacramento. I attended local public schools, ultimately graduating with honors from the University of San Francisco School of Law. I also hold a B.A., magna cum laude, in Business Administration from San Francisco State University.
Upon admission to the bar, I joined the San Francisco-based law firm of Sedgwick LLP (formerly Sedgwick, Detert, Moran & Arnold) where I have practiced throughout my career, first as an associate attorney and then as a partner and Of Counsel to the firm. For many years, I have been rated AV Preeminent (5.0/5.0) by my attorney-peers, indicating the highest level of legal ability and ethical standards.
My wife Debra and I are the proud parents of three adult children, and we recently welcomed our second grandchild. I am a passionate Giants fan (going all the way back), avid reader, and survivor of one of Marin’s early rock bands. Debra owns a pet care business and enjoys photography as a hobby.
My aim in establishing a mediation practice is to help people resolve their disputes without resort to the process of litigation and trial. I offer fair, effective, and affordable mediation services to individuals and businesses in San Francisco and the North Bay, focusing on ways to help the parties understand the issues at the heart of their dispute and identify pathways to compromise and agreement. Please see my bio for more information regarding my background and experience.
